W Ventures Announces New Portfolio Company, Roger That

New Brand Created For Heroes By Heroes Launched To Address Unmet Needs Of Military, First Responders & Front-Line Workers

W Ventures, a one-of-a-kind VC and accelerator company, today announced the addition of Roger That to its growing portfolio. The Baltimore-based apparel and grooming products company sells products created for heroes by heroes. Roger That was created to inspire heroes to look and feel great while doing great things.

The founders of Roger That have extensive backgrounds in the military and as first responders and tactical trainers.  BK Blankchtein and Steven Almendarez recognized that people in their field sacrifice many things to serve, including the way they look and feel. They both realized that there was no company focused on addressing the unmet needs of this audience – apparel and grooming products (launching later this year) that both make you look good and feel good. The Roger That  brand was created to allow everyday heroes to look and feel refined while kicking ass.

Roger That’s apparel line includes garments for both men and women – ranging from T-shirts to hoodies and zip-ups to button down shirts, outerwear and hats. The cut and feel of each piece of apparel was chosen based on the specific needs of heroes. Whether you wear it under your protective vest, to the gym, or out to a nice dinner with family — Roger That apparel is made to perform at the highest level of comfort, fit and style while letting people know you are part of a brotherhood and sisterhood of warriors. All garments are moisture wicking, anti-microbial and offer a higher level of comfort than other products currently serving this audience.

W Ventures, in partnership with its sister company, Warschawski, a full-service marketing communications agency, has worked diligently with Roger That’s founders to create branding elements from scratch, including the company’s name, logo, e-commerce website, social media presence, photography and video content, as well as public relations initiatives.  Moving forward, the partnership will focus on communications campaigns, ranging from traditional and social media strategy to digital advertising to enhance national visibility and brand awareness among their target audience.

“Our nation’s brave and courageous heroes leave it all on the line every day, making countless personal sacrifices and selflessly putting the needs of others before their own. Roger That is here to say that no longer needs to be the case.  You can look good and feel good while serving others,” said David Warschawski, managing partner of W Ventures. “We are thrilled by the amazing excitement this community has already expressed for this brand and the brand loyalty they have already demonstrated.”

Steven Almendarez, co-founder of Roger That added, “We are thrilled to partner with W Ventures and the talented members of the Warschawski team. The early-stage company expertise of W Ventures combined with the industry leading marketing communications help of Warschawski has been invaluable to Roger That.  Their combined help has been instrumental in creating this amazing brand and driving customer excitement for purchase.  We would not be in the same place without them and are confident that with their continued help our nation’s selfless heroes will feel like the refined warriors they were meant to be.”

W Ventures accepts applications from startup founders on a rolling basis. Portfolio companies receive access to its network of angel and VC investors, as well as business and subject matter experts who can assist in refining every aspect of their offerings. The company provides either cash investments and/or marketing communications services in exchange for equity and offers beautiful office space and living quarters for executives.
