Flow into the New Season with Colony Square’s “Summer Solstice on the Square” on June 18

Community invited to a sunrise meditation and sun salutation practice in the heart of Midtown Atlanta

WHAT: On Friday, June 18, celebrate the beginning of the new season during Colony Square’s second annual “Summer Solstice on the Square,” a rejuvenating experience designed to honor the light and our connection to the Sun and Earth. The community is invited to welcome the sunrise at the Midtown Atlanta mixed-use destination with sun salutations, meditation and intention-setting. The event is complimentary and open to the public.

Summer Solstice on the Square is a celebration of Colony Square’s 2,915-square-foot mural Aurora, known as goddess of the dawn. Brought to life by four local women artists, the massive art display symbolizes hope, transcendence and the coming of a new day. The entire event will take place under the eyes of Aurora, inviting guests to connect with their inner being and show gratitude for a fresh start.

Upon checking in at 5:45 a.m. in The Front Loop along Peachtree Street, attendees will receive a complimentary rose quartz healing stone and seed paper to set intentions during the practice. At 6 a.m., the community will be taken through a self-healing sun salutation and meditation practice led by Shelley Carroll of Dancing Dogs Yoga, a sound bath experience by Sound Embrace, a medicine wheel, the writing of intentions and a group tarot card reading. After the class, guests can sip on complimentary tea samples from Starbucks.

Guests are encouraged to bring a yoga mat and a personal item, such as a flower or item of significance, to place at the foot of the mural and welcome the new season. Additionally, the first guests to check-in have the opportunity to sign up for Individual Reiki energy healings or a tarot card reading immediately following the class. Appointments are limited to 10 per practice.

The event is complimentary and parking will be validated. For full event details, please visit colonysquare.com/summer-solstice-2021/. For more information on upcoming events, follow Colony Square on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram or visit colonysquare.com
