Hector Galeano Joins Saul Ewing Arnstein & Lehr as Counsel

In joining Saul Ewing Arnstein & Lehr’s Miami office, Hector Galeano brings significant experience advising companies on legal issues connected with business visas and their compliance with I-9 and other immigration laws. He joins the firm as counsel in the Global Immigration & Foreign Investment Practice.

Mr. Galeano provides in-house counsel and human resources professionals guidance on implementation of immigration policies and their management of nonimmigrant and immigrant visa options for current and future employees. This includes preparing and advising on these visa filings with the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of State. He also drafts labor certifications for submission to the Department of Labor.

His experience also includes representing employers in immigration-related investigations such as ICE I-9 audits and matters involving the Department of Labor and the Department of Justice’s Immigrant and Employee Rights Section.

“We are thrilled to welcome Hector to Saul Ewing Arnstein & Lehr,” said Miami Office Managing Partner Luis Flores. “With the change in presidential administrations in Washington, D.C., we are anticipating that more of the firm’s clients will need the reliable counsel that Hector provides on immigration matters affecting their labor pool and investments involving the EB-5 program.”

Some of the notable matters that Mr. Galeano handled prior to his move to the firm include:

• Working with a leading cancer research and detection company in counseling it through acquisitions in its expansion efforts, as well as helping it develop an immigration policy to address the company’s existing and future workforce.

• Working with a startup IT Solutions company in the Bay Area on its immigration matters, and assisting the company as it pursued federal litigation against USCIS following the improper denial of an H-1B petition.

• Representing a medical group in California, which was responsible for providing regional medical faculty for the area, in immigration matters.

Mr. Galeano earned his J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law and his B.S. from Florida State University.
