Q&A with Eduardo Lorenzo Arévalo, Founder of Synergize Services

From Freight Logistics to Global Innovation and Clean Energy

Eduardo Lorenzo Arévalo’s path to founding Synergize Services wasn’t a straight line, it was a transformation. After a career in national freight, Arévalo reinvented himself and his business, building a company that fuses logistics, innovation, and purpose. Today, Synergize Services is working with defense leaders like Northrop Grumman and deploying clean energy solutions across Latin America and South Africa.

In this Q&A with CityBiz, Arévalo shares how personal reinvention led to professional revolution, and why Synergize is more than a logistics firm.

Your journey from national freight to global innovation is anything but linear. What inspired you to start Synergize Services, and how did your personal story shape its mission?

In recreating myself, I had to start over. I had to re-evaluate my entire identity. I broke down the specific roles and functions of my life, and decided to intentionally invest in each area. In doing so, it helped me view my world in a nuanced way, where I can consistently invest even small, consistent efforts into different realms, to build a larger overall picture. Synergize Services follows that same formula, of bringing different strengths, talents, and passions into one congruent holistic picture.

Synergize recently secured a major contract with Northrop Grumman and is working with world-class scientists on clean energy. How do you see logistics evolving beyond transportation into sectors like energy and infrastructure?

One of the beautiful aspects of the idea of Synergy is the concept that the combined effect of two or more elements working together is greater than the sum of their individual effects ie- 1+1=3. Initially, logistics was my bread and butter, while my non profit work was my passion.  However, building up networks in both realms led to a beautiful marriage of bringing together world leading companies and technologies, with brilliant, powerful visionaries. We’re basically looking to put revolutionary technologies in the hands of conscious world leaders and visionaries that are dedicated to creating a better future!

You’ve mentioned turning waste into “black gold” a carbon-neutral energy source. Can you walk us through that technology and why it’s a potential game-changer for both the environment and global diplomacy?

Absolutely. Just like the Earth naturally transforms ancient life into fossil fuels over thousands of years—compressing organic material into coal or oil through heat, pressure, and time—our partners are working with breakthrough technologies that replicate that same transformation in a matter of hours. Two huge existential problems we face today are the damage we’re causing the planet through excess waste, and the role energy has played as a major motivator of war in my lifetime. I believe these solutions can help us clean up the Earth while simultaneously providing clean, sustainable energy.

Alongside running Synergize, you also lead a nonprofit called Launch Visionaries. How do you balance high-level logistics strategy with grassroots community work, and why is that dual mission important to you?

My personal conviction is that I am to be a good steward. My name “Eduardo” actually means to be a good steward of wealth, ironically. I like having fun, traveling and certain pleasures in life. But ultimately I believe money and wealth are just a tool. That I’m just a steward, and I can’t take it with me. So my goal is to use it as a tool to do my small part in making the world a better place. Starting with my family, my community and hopefully the world!

Looking ahead, you’ve expressed a bold vision of becoming a trillion-dollar company. What does that future look like to you and how do purpose, innovation, and partnerships all factor into getting there?

The future looks bright! I never imagined I’d be collaborating with global leaders and major entities. But in my lifetime, we’ve witnessed incredible technological advances that have nearly interconnected the global marketplace and even our social economies. My hope is to bring synergy and harmony to that global system as we work toward a better tomorrow and ultimately, real and lasting world peace.

You’ve earned praise from Northrop Grumman for your leadership on secure, high-value logistics. What do you think earned their trust, and what lessons did that experience teach you about working at the highest levels of industry?

Their endorsement means a lot to me. It’s a highlight in my career. And it’s not something you can fake. It takes the right knowledge, the right team, and the right values to be aligned on any project, and I appreciate it greatly that they value our working relationship!

But when you’re dealing with a company like Northrop Grumman, or any of the other amazing companies, you have to match their level of excellence, their commitment to details, and function on the same frequency that their well established system rests on. It really edifies you, and provokes the best effort out of you when you deal with elite companies and teams.

How did working with Northrop Grumman open doors to other partnerships and did it influence your decision to expand into infrastructure and energy systems?

Working with Northrop Grumman was the “aha” moment I needed in my career. The project they were planning would typically take an average logistics firm four to six weeks to quote. Because of my experience and the strength of my team, I was able to give them a ballpark estimate in about five minutes, and it turned out to be highly accurate.

Even before partnering with Northrop, I had the capacity and the team to handle projects of that scale. But being able to say I ship for Northrop validates my qualifications. It serves as a credential that boosts my credibility and quickly signals to potential clients, especially large players in energy and infrastructure, that I can deliver on my promises and provide real value.

You often talk about “systems that serve people and the planet.” What’s broken in today’s logistics or energy systems and what is Synergize building differently?

In the infrastructure and energy space, the system is so broken that even our biggest priorities have become politically polarized. Green energy, which benefits both consumers and the planet, should be something everyone can agree is a good thing. However, most of the proposed solutions so far have either been only marginally helpful or perceived as tax-driven money grabs, and in the worst cases, have enabled human rights abuses like slave labor in cobalt mines abroad.

Our solution is true innovation. We use technology that mimics what the earth naturally does, taking our waste problem and transforming it into biofuel. This creates energy independence by turning one of the planet’s greatest liabilities, waste, into one of its greatest assets.

We harm the earth by burning waste or burying it in landfills. At the same time, we wage wars over energy resources in other parts of the world. Our goal is to solve both problems at once by turning waste into energy that is produced right here at home.

Your global expansion now touches Latin America, South Africa, and beyond. How are you approaching international growth differently from the typical logistics firm?

Having a logistical presence with the physical capability to haul even oversized, heavy units internationally, is what initially brought forth some of these larger partnerships. Having the ability to transport machinery internationally, while also having access to technology that can provide energy and infrastructure solutions to a global market, is a win-win for everyone!

If you could sit down with a head of state tomorrow, what would your pitch be and why is Synergize more than just a logistics company?

Simple. I’ve spent the past ten years working with top tech, infrastructure, and energy firms, helping them implement logistical solutions both domestically and internationally. I’ve built synergies with global industry leaders committed to a better future. The infrastructure and energy solutions we deliver are not only best in class, in some cases, they’re the only solutions of their kind available anywhere.
