Art, Cancer, and Community: Bold Buddies Exhibition Reception at Simone Development’s Gallery of ARTFul Medicine

The Bold Buddies exhibition reception at The Gallery of ARTFul Medicine (located at Simone Development’s Hutch Metro Center) was a celebration of art, storytelling, and community, held as part of the A(I) Brighter Tomorrow: Cancer and Beyond exhibit. Featuring immersive installations, interactive displays, and thought-provoking work, the exhibition challenges traditional perspectives on illness and healing. Through contributions from visionary artists, scientists, and cancer survivors, visitors are invited to explore how art can transform the way cancer is perceived.

During the event, artist Federico Muelas conducted interviews for his upcoming project, a follow-up to T(H)UMOR: Dear Cancer Diary, a graphic novel chronicling the experiences of cancer survivors in Montefiore’s Bronx Oncology Living Daily (BOLD Buddies) program. The new material will be transformed into a comic book, with proceeds supporting the program.

The exhibition runs through April 18, 2025.
