Hyatt Commercial Facilitates Sale of Historic Brickhouse Restaurant in Shady Side, MD

The Brickhouse Restaurant, a well-known dining establishment in Shady Side, Maryland, has officially changed ownership. After operating for over 20 years, owner Peter Litchfield has sold the business and retired.

The historic property, located at 1530 Cedarhurst Rd, Shady Side, MD, includes a home built in the 1800s, where Litchfield resided until the closing day. The business sold for $600,000 to Yiannes Kacoyianni, an Annapolis-based buyer.

Scott Shineman of Coldwell Banker represented the buyer, while Judith Neighoff, Vice President of Hyatt Commercial, represented the seller.

“This property holds a special place in the community, and it was a pleasure working with Peter through this transition,” said Judith Neighoff, Vice President at Hyatt Commercial. “The Brickhouse Restaurant has been a local landmark for decades, and we’re excited to see how Yiannes carries its legacy forward.”

This commercial real estate sale marks a transition for Shady Side’s local dining scene, with new ownership poised to shape the next phase of the restaurant’s history.
