Kristi House announced that it has successfully achieved re-accreditation with the National Children’s Alliance (NCA), the national association and accrediting body for Children’s Advocacy Centers (CACs). As Miami-Dade County’s only nationally accredited CAC, this distinction reaffirms Kristi House’s commitment to providing the highest standard of care for children and families impacted by abuse, exploitation, and trauma.
The year-long re-accreditation process involved a comprehensive review of Kristi House’s programs and operations in collaboration with its multidisciplinary partners, including the State Attorney’s Office, University of Miami Child Protection Team, Roxcy Bolton Rape Treatment Center, Florida Guardian ad Litem office, Florida Department of Children and Families, the City of Miami Police, and the Miami-Dade County Police Department.
“We are incredibly proud to receive this re-accreditation from the National Children’s Alliance, which underscores our dedication to providing effective, compassionate, and trauma-informed services to the children and families we serve,” said Amanda G. Altman, CEO of Kristi House. “This achievement is a testament to the hard work and collaboration of our dedicated staff, committed board members, and partners who share in our mission of healing and justice.”
Kristi House recently completed re-accreditation with the Council on Accreditation (COA) as well, another rigorous process that evaluates organizations to ensure services meet the highest standards of care.
Since its founding in 1995, Kristi House has helped more than 30,000 children and their families recover from trauma, offering critical support and advocacy to survivors of child sexual abuse, trafficking, and other forms of maltreatment. The organization’s continued national recognition highlights its leadership in the fight against child abuse and its unwavering commitment to the community.
Kristi House’s impact continues to grow, most recently with the opening of its Healing Sanctuary in Homestead. This new facility, in partnership with MUJER, serves as a centralized hub for trauma-informed care, providing critical services to victims of violence and abuse in South Dade. With this strategic expansion, Kristi House is significantly increasing its capacity to serve more children and families in need.
