Luminis Health Hosts “Beautiful You” Event on Valentine’s Day to Support Cancer Patients Experiencing Hair Loss

Losing your hair during cancer treatments can be an extremely difficult experience, deeply affecting one’s sense of self and confidence. On Valentine’s Day, Luminis Health’s Oncology Team is partnering with several organizations to offer pampering, self-care, and support for individuals impacted by cancer.

The “Beautiful You” Event, taking place at Luminis Health Anne Arundel Medical Center (LHAAMC) in Annapolis, supports women who are battling cancer with free wigs. The goal is to enhance natural beauty while fostering a sense of community and empowerment.

What’s included:

  • Free Wigs & Wig Styling
  • Wig Care Advice
  • Skin Consultation
  • Mini Makeovers
  • Lunch

Thanks to the generosity of EBeauty Community for Cancer Support, a non-profit organization dedicated to assisting women undergoing cancer treatment, all wigs provided are free of charge. LHAAMC has partnered with EBeauty, the LHAAMC Foundation, and The Temple Annapolis- Paul Mitchell Partner School to offer these sessions for women.

“For cancer patients, losing your hair can be traumatic, often impacting one’s confidence and self-esteem,” said Susanne Tameris, Senior Director of Cancer Services at Luminis Health. “This event is a small but meaningful way we can offer comfort, beauty, and support during such a vulnerable time. It’s a chance to help individuals feel like themselves again—beautiful, strong, and empowered. There’s no better day to show this kind of love and compassion than Valentine’s Day.”

In addition to receiving beauty treatments, this event allows women to connect with others who truly understand the experience of battling cancer, offering a space to find comfort, share experiences, and build a sense of community during a time when support is needed most.
