Schwartz Sladkus Reich Greenberg Atlas Continues Growth with Key Promotions and Welcomes New Senior Counsel

NYC-based firm expands Litigation, Matrimonial and Family Law, and Real Estate departments

Schwartz Sladkus Reich Greenberg Atlas LLP (SSRGA) announces the promotion of four attorneys to partner including Andrea J. Caruso, S. Yan Sin, Mark A. Hakim, and Parag K. Parekh. In addition, William A. Jaskola, Matthew N. Tobias, and Jennifer Barash, have been elevated to Senior Counsel, and Jonathan R. Jeremias has joined the firm as Senior Counsel. These milestones highlight SSRGA’s ongoing commitment to recognizing and fostering exceptional legal talent.

Andrea J. CarusoWilliam A. Jaskola, and Matthew N. Tobias, promoted in the litigation department, and Jonathan R. Jeremias, who has joined the firm as Senior Counsel, add significant depth and expertise to SSRGA’s expanding practice.

Andrea J. Caruso, a member of the firm’s litigation group, focuses her practice on real estate and commercial litigation. She has extensive experience representing clients in property litigation matters, including partition actions, adverse possession, breach of contract, and commercial lease disputes. Andrea earned her J.D. from the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University and her undergraduate degree from Colgate University.

William A. Jaskola, elevated to Senior Counsel, is a veteran commercial litigator with over 25 years of experience handling complex real estate and construction disputes. He advises cooperative and condominium boards, property owners, and developers on governance and litigation matters. William earned his J.D. from Fordham University and his undergraduate degree from Hofstra University.

Matthew N. Tobias, also promoted to Senior Counsel, is a seasoned civil litigator with over two decades of experience in real estate and commercial litigation. His practice includes handling contract and lease disputes, condominium/cooperative governance disputes, mortgage lien issues, title defects, construction litigation, and landlord/tenant matters. Matthew has also served as general counsel for many condominiums and cooperatives in New York City, providing guidance on corporate governance, the operations and management of residential buildings, and resident issues.  Matthew earned his J.D. from Fordham University, where he served on the Fordham Law Review, and his undergraduate degree from Cornell University.

Jonathan R. Jeremias has joined the litigation group as Senior Counsel. With over a decade of experience in complex litigation, Jonathan has extensive knowledge across various legal areas, including labor and employment, fiduciary litigation, and commercial litigation. He has represented clients in state and federal courts, arbitrations, mediations, and appeals. Jonathan earned his J.D. from the City University of New York School of Law, where he served as Managing Editor of the New York City Law Review, and his undergraduate degree from Fordham University.

S. Yan Sin, a member in the matrimonial and family law group, brings a wealth of experience in divorce, custody, and support litigation. She previously served as associate law clerk to Justice Ellen F. Gesmer and has an active role in community organizations, including the Adoptive and Foster Family Coalition of New York. Yan earned her J.D. from New York Law School and her undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia.

Mark A. HakimParag K. Parekh, and Jennifer Barash, all promoted in the real estate department, continue to bring extensive expertise to SSRGA’s robust and growing practice.

Mark A. Hakim specializes in cooperative and condominium law, representing boards, and developers, investors, purchasers, sellers and lenders in a range of corporate and transactional commercial and residential matters. He earned his J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law and his undergraduate degree from Syracuse University.

Parag K. Parekh represents developers, purchasers, sellers, and investors in commercial and residential transactions. He also advises on New York State Department of Law registration requirements and prepares offering plans and amendments. Parag is a graduate of Adelphi University, Pace Law School, and Georgetown University Law Center, where he earned his LL.M. in taxation.

Jennifer Barash, promoted to Senior Counsel, focuses on representing clients in the sale, acquisition, financing, leasing, and development of commercial, residential, and mixed-use properties. She has significant experience in retail and office leasing for both owners and tenants and multi-family transactions. Jennifer earned her J.D. from Brooklyn Law School and her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan.
