Cresswind Georgia at Twin Lakes Hosts Honor Flight in Veterans Day Festivities

Community veterans honored in Veterans Honor Walk dedication and Honor Flight Presentation

Cresswind Georgia at Twin Lakes, a Kolter Homes active adult community located in Hoschton, Georgia, recently hosted a variety of Veterans Day festivities, including a dedication of the neighborhood’s Veterans Honor Walk by its Veterans Club and presentations by Honor Flight, a national nonprofit organization comprised of independent hubs working together to celebrate America’s veterans, including a special guest 100-year-old WWII veteran, Andy Negra.

“At Cresswind communities, we honor our veterans not just on Veterans Day, but every day, by coming together to celebrate their service and sacrifice,” said Jennifer Landers, community director at Cresswind Georgia at Twin Lakes. “Our festivities and support for organizations like Honor Flight allow us to express our gratitude and offer meaningful opportunities for our local heroes, strengthening the bonds within our community and ensuring their legacy lives on.”

As in previous years, the Cresswind Georgia at Twin Lakes Veterans Club kicked off the weekend leading up to Veterans Day with a Friday community gathering at the Braselton Library to honor U.S. military veterans and public safety workers. On Saturday, Cresswind Georgia at Twin Lakes residents joined resident veteran Lee Martin to be recognized as a Veterans Group at the Suwanee Veterans Memorial dedication, alongside a military band performance and recognition of each military branch.

Events concluded on Monday at The Club at Cresswind Georgia at Twin Lakes in a dedication of the Veterans Honor Walk, followed by a flag raising and recognition of all veterans in attendance. In addition, Honor Flight shared an informational presentation, as did Andy Negra, who shared a World War II presentation on his military experience, including The Battle of Brest in France, the Battle of the Bulge and the Battle for Bastogne Belgium.

Honor Flight aims to show veterans the appreciation and honor they deserve by coordinating flights for veterans to participate in a day of honor at national memorial sites. By participating, veterans can gather with other comrades, remember the fallen and share their stories and experiences with other veterans. Travel is free of charge for veterans, funded solely by generous donations to the Honor Flight Network.

Appropriately named for its two on-property lakes, Cresswind Georgia at Twin Lakes offers active adults impressive waterside and outdoor amenities throughout, including options for fishing, kayaking or canoeing on either lake, as well as exploring the outdoors via a network of community walking paths.

Additional outdoor amenities include a community garden, event lawn, resort-style pool, and newsworthy Pickleball Center, which will consist of more than 40 pickleball courts upon completion to become the largest private pickleball complex in Georgia. The complex currently features 21 active pickleball courts and a covered “Eagle’s Nest” spectators pavilion for residents to enjoy.

The Club at Cresswind also offers an array of sought-after indoor amenities, including a lounge with calming lakeside views, an indoor pool with lap lanes, a cutting-edge SmartFIT Training Center powered by EGYM, an arts and crafts room and multiple event spaces.

New active adult homes at Cresswind Georgia at Twin Lakes are currently priced from the high $300,000s to over $1 million and feature personalizable home designs to accommodate a variety of needs and preferences, such as golf cart garages, finished or unfinished upper-level bonus rooms, walkout daylight basements, flexible room configurations and enclosed patios, as well as hundreds of finish and hardware selections on display at the community’s on-site Design Studio.
