One of the first and most beneficial steps people often take on their journey to moving to Linden Ponds, an Erickson Living managed senior living community in Hingham, Massachusetts, is joining the community’s priority list, which is a preferred membership to secure a position for an apartment home. By securing that position, prospective members will be notified when their desired apartment styles become available.
Joining the priority list is simple. After you fill out an application and pay a fully refundable deposit of $1,000, you can save your place in line for the apartment home of your choice. Right now, Linden Ponds is waiving the onetime, nonrefundable processing fee of $150 per person and giving new members $100 Amazon gift cards when they sign up.
“It’s risk-free,” says Sales Counselor Teresa Caseau.
Looking to the future
Many things have had to be put on hold during the coronavirus pandemic, but Caseau says planning for your retirement doesn’t need to be one of them. In fact, she says joining the priority list makes sense whether you’re planning to move in a few months or a few years.
“Even during this unprecedented time of the COVID-19 pandemic, many seniors are still making plans for their future home options. They are tired of home maintenance; they don’t want to worry about it anymore,” Caseau says.
“They want to know that they will be taken care of no matter the level of care they may need. They want to make a good financial decision and want to know they are moving to a trustworthy community with lots of activities and amenities and that there are people just like them living here.”
In-person appointments and events were put on hold during the height of the COVID-19 crisis, but Caseau, fellow Sales Counselor Karmin Der, and the rest of the sales team found other ways to stay connected to prospective residents and keep priority list members informed about everything happening at the community. They were conducting virtual appointments via Zoom, FaceTime, and Google Duo to tell prospective residents all about living at Linden Ponds and show them the amenities the community offers.
“This pandemic has allowed us to embrace a new way of ‘meeting’ with prospective residents,” Caseau says. “It’s amazing that we can bring whole families together to virtually tour Linden Ponds. Many people are looking ahead to future plans and want to educate themselves.”
Joining the priority list includes many other benefits such as being the first to hear about new information, including home availability, new construction, and special offers that could save you money. In addition, Linden Ponds priority list members have access to Erickson Realty and Moving services, a special program that offers complimentary coordination of all realty and moving needs, including downsizing, home staging, packing, and selection of a real estate professional.
Personal Moving Consultant Lynne Ford used technology to assist priority list members with planning their moves while physical distancing.
“Lynne can help you with a plan for downsizing, provide you with real estate advice, and even help you with furniture placement when you’ve selected your apartment home,” Caseau says.
“Whether you plan to move right away or a few years down the road, by joining our priority list, you’ll get to pick your favorite floor plan, location, and view.”
Coronavirus hasn’t slowed Massachusetts retirees’ interest in learning more about Linden Ponds. People have continued to join the priority list, reserve apartment homes, and move to Linden Ponds throughout the pandemic.
“The list is growing and we are happy to report over 400 priority members here at Linden Ponds,” Caseau says.
“Don’t wait, join today and secure your future at Linden Ponds. We will be open for tours again, so call the sales office for more details.” It’s often in difficult times that we find out what we’re really capable of—and that certainly rang true during the pandemic. Staff from all departments worked together to make sure residents were safe and well taken care of while stay-at-home directives were in effect.
“Our priority list members have continued to move into Linden Ponds through this pandemic,” Caseau says. “They know that our community is the best there is and comes highly recommended by all who have visited any Erickson Living-managed community.”
