AUSTIN, Texas–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Allen Control Systems, the leading precision robotics defense company, today announced the appointment of Brice Cooper, former head of U.S. Special Operations Command’s counter drone and counterproliferation programs, Department of Defense acquisition expert, and 25-year Army and special operations veteran, as the company’s Chief Strategy Officer. Cooper will lead all government and corporate growth activities for ACS and be a key voice in product development and marketing strategies.
“Brice is one of the most accomplished and visionary experts in defense acquisition. He has a deep understanding of the needs of today’s military and has been successful in building modern defense systems. He is a stellar addition to our leadership team and will help us reach new levels of growth,” said Steve Simoni, co-founder & CEO, ACS. “In the defense tech landscape, there has been a gap in critically needed counter drone solutions. The U.S. is currently behind our adversaries in the ability to deploy or effectively and economically protect against numerous inexpensive attack drones. ACS tech gives the U.S. a head start in defense against these drones, which could partially offset the manufacturing advantages of potential adversaries.”
Cooper is a Department of Defense acquisition expert, congressional affairs specialist, and former Green Beret with over 25 years of experience in product management, congressional relations, and both special and conventional military operations. He is highly skilled at the numerous government acquisition processes and the congressional authorizations and appropriations cycles that are all needed to deliver products to market for the U.S. warfighter and its allies. Cooper has deep experience successfully navigating all levels of DoD leading multiple successful capability development programs over his career in excess of $1B.
“After three years of deep involvement at the highest levels of DoD to counter unmanned threats, I immediately recognized ACS’ technology as a first across the defense industry. The rise of low-flying, inexpensive drones on modern battlefields poses a significant and costly threat to the U.S. and its allies. ACS addresses this challenge head-on by delivering innovative and real cost-effective solutions that will change how we defend against emerging threats,” said Cooper. “ACS represents limitless potential for the U.S. and its allies to defend itself at scale against all types of drones now and well into the future. It’s an incredible opportunity to be part of a team that’s pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in defense.”
ACS’ proprietary advanced robotic hardware and software weapon stations, powered by artificial intelligence and machine learning, enable any legacy or modern weapon system to achieve precise aiming and impact. The core ACS technology allows upgrading existing weapons systems to not miss, operating at the limits set by physics. ACS’ autonomous weapon stations are the most practical and effective countermeasure to the rapidly proliferating unmanned threat (such as drones), and are needed by every organization responsible for national security.
In August, ACS successfully completed numerous demonstrations of its Bullfrog™ system, including several successful multi-drone engagements at distance during the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Technology Readiness Experimentation 2024 (TREX 24-2). As the sole autonomous kinetic defeat solution selected to participate at TREX, ACS’s Bullfrog system delivered on its promise to demonstrate a low-cost, low Size Weight and Power (SWaP), autonomous system.
