Members of the University of Central Florida Collegiate Cybersecurity Competition Team stopped by ThreatLocker’s headquarters to increase their knowledge of cybersecurity. During the visit, the team was challenged with a mission to hack into a program protected by ThreatLocker’s security system.
“I knew as hackers they loved a challenge, so I dared them to break in and collect a flag on a machine protected by the ThreatLocker platform,” said ThreatLocker Cybersecurity Engineer and HackUCF alumni Nicholas Cottrell. “They could not get in, though many stated that they would like another shot. Even when faced with a challenge, they not only refused to give up, but were also excited to try again.”
The talented students spent the day working on challenging demonstrations, viewing a presentation of the ThreatLocker platform, asking questions about cybersecurity, and taking a tour of the facility.
“We really appreciated the hands-on technical demonstration of ThreatLocker’s default-deny endpoint detection and response systems,” said IT major Ardian Peach.
According to the Hack@UCF webpage, the group’s mission is striving to foster a generation that is aware of information security, specifically in the Central Florida area. The award-winning team has won 12 national cybersecurity championships since 2013.
“We loved touring ThreatLocker and meeting all the teams. We would love to come back again,” said HackUCF President Kevin Kiderchah.
