Walmart is announcing a major remodeling of its Supercenter in Bainbridge, Georgia. Located at 500 E Alice St., the store will undergo a 16-week transformation that will significantly modernize the Supercenter. It will be the first remodel in the store’s 20-year history, and it will feature Walmart’s new Store of the Future design.
“Our team is thrilled with the upcoming transformation to turn our store into an updated, state-of-the-art retail center,” said Mario Junious, store manager for Walmart #5422. “This remodel will bring much-needed enhancements to our store, which will enable our customers to have a better shopping experience and our associates to have an expanded area for order pickups and deliveries.”
Some of the upgrades and new features that will be available to customers after the remodel include:
- An expanded Online Pickup and Delivery (OPD) workspace, bringing the store’s footprint from 184,000 square feet to 188,850 square feet
- An upgraded electronics department with a photo lab incorporated into the register bullpen
- A brand-new look for the apparel department, complete with mannequin displays
- New vignettes displaying merchandise on furniture in the home goods and infants’ departments
In addition, Walmart will demonstrate its commitment to the community by donating $6,000 to local organizations chosen by its associates. A staple of Walmart renovations, the store will also add a custom mural recognizing Bainbridge’s status as the “Bass Capital of Georgia” and a top destination for fishermen.
