Baltimore Peninsula and Clyde’s Restaurant Group Celebrate the Opening of Rye Street Tavern

Clyde’s Restaurant Group’s first Baltimore location offers Southern-inspired cuisine with a waterfront view

On Thursday, August 1, the Baltimore Peninsula development team, led by MAG Partners and MacFarlane Partners, in partnership with Sagamore Ventures and the Urban Investment Group within Goldman Sachs Asset Management; and Washington, DC-based Clyde’s Restaurant Group,  a subsidiary of Graham Holdings Company, celebrated the opening of Rye Street Tavern, a two-story, 12,000-square-foot restaurant featuring five dining areas and three bars, in addition to multiple private event spaces. The space includes a 75-seat outdoor bar with panoramic waterfront views. The restaurant, which officially opened on July 15, is located at 225 East Cromwell Street on the Sagamore Spirit Distillery campus in Baltimore Peninsula, a 235-acre mixed-use waterfront community. The Baltimore Peninsula development team and Clyde’s Restaurant Group were joined by community leaders and other key stakeholders to celebrate the opening.

“Baltimore Peninsula is quickly becoming an unmatched destination for dining, leisure and doing business,” said Kevin Plank. “The neighborhood is drawing iconic businesses and entrepreneurs into our city, with both Clyde’s Restaurant Group and Bar Vegan’s Pinky Cole respectively electing to open their first Baltimore restaurant locations right here at Baltimore Peninsula – in addition to countless additional dining and retail options set to open this year.”

“Celebrating this highly-anticipated opening was a wonderful moment for the Baltimore Peninsula team,” said MaryAnne Gilmartin, Founder and CEO of MAG Partners. “Rye Street Tavern truly has it all – from incredible seasonal menus to unmatched waterfront views. The restaurant is going to be a go-to spot for locals and visitors alike and cements Baltimore Peninsula as the city’s next major dining district.”

Led by executive chef and Maryland native John Navarria, the seafood-heavy menu has a Southern influence and offers dishes including jumbo lump crab cake, wild Chesapeake Bay rockfish, a seafood cocktail and smashburger sliders.

Rye Street Tavern’s open hours are as follows:

  • Monday through Thursday from 11:30AM to 11PM

  • Friday from 11:30AM to midnight

  • Saturday from 10AM to midnight

  • Sunday from 10AM to 11PM

To make a reservation for lunch, dinner or weekend brunch, guests can book online or call the restaurant directly at 443-662-8000.

This announcement is the latest by the Baltimore Peninsula development team and builds on the neighborhood’s status as an emerging dining district in Baltimore. The development is currently home to popular seafood restaurant Nick’s Fish House, as well as coffee and provisions shop Little Wing which opened last month at ROOST Baltimore. Nationally-renowned Slutty Vegan and Bar Vegan are slated to open at Rye Street Market later this year, in addition to Baltimore Peninsula’s recently announced leases with a number of other eateries including Urbano Tex-Mex, BK Lobster, Ben & Jerry’s, Live-K Karaoke Bar and Daily Grind.
