KatzAbosch, a leading certified public accounting and business consulting firm, announces the retirement of its esteemed Co-Founder and former President/CEO, Alvin Katz.
After decades of dedicated service, Alvin Katz will be retiring from his role at the end of the year, leaving behind a legacy of excellence, innovation, and commitment to client success. Alvin co-founded KatzAbosch in 1969, and his leadership has been instrumental in shaping the firm into one of the most respected names in the Maryland region and industry. His career is decorated with numerous accolades, including the Icon Honors Award from The Daily Record in 2018 and the Centers of Influence Award from Baltimore SmartCEO Magazine in 2016.
Terry Grant, current President/CEO of KatzAbosch, shared her thoughts on Alvin’s retirement: “Alvin Katz has been the cornerstone of KatzAbosch for over five decades. His vision and unwavering dedication have driven the firm to achieve remarkable growth and success. Alvin’s influence extends beyond his professional accomplishments; he has been a mentor, leader, and friend to many. His commitment to excellence and integrity has set a standard that will continue to guide us as we move forward. Alvin’s impact also extends to his extensive volunteer work and professional affiliations. He has been a member and Virtual Grassroots Panel Member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), a Blue Ribbon Panel Member of the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants (MACPA), and Chair of the Planned Giving Advisory Council at the Kennedy Krieger Institute. Alvin has sat on the Board of Trustees for The Center Club and past board member of the National Bone Marrow Foundation, Greater Baltimore Medical Center and The Associated- Jewish Community Federation of Baltimore to name a few. His dedication to community service earned him the title Hometown Hero by the American Red Cross of Central Maryland in 2010.
Reflecting on his retirement, Alvin Katz expressed his gratitude and optimism for the future: “It has been an incredible journey, and I am deeply thankful for the opportunities and success I have experienced with KatzAbosch. The relationships I have built with colleagues and clients have been the most rewarding aspect of my career. I am proud of the legacy I leave behind and am excited about the next chapter and the new ventures that lie ahead.”
KatzAbosch will celebrate Alvin Katz’s remarkable career and contributions with the firm’s 55th anniversary event later this year, details of which will be announced in September.
