Hopkins & Carley is pleased to announce that Monique Jewett-Brewster, shareholder and chair of the firm’s Financial Institutions and Creditors Rights Practice Group, was selected as one of Lawdragon’s 500 Leading Global Bankruptcy & Restructuring Lawyers for 2024. Jewett-Brewster was honored within the Financial Institutions & Creditor Rights category.
“We are thrilled to celebrate this well-deserved recognition,” said Hopkins & Carley Managing Shareholder Jennifer C. Johnson. “Monique is an accomplished practitioner who serves her clients with exceptional skill and admirable determination.”
According to Lawdragon editorial, these are the lawyers who “can make all the difference for a business, debtor or creditor and have done so time and time again.” They reflect “the move away from the more extreme boom and bust cycles of bankruptcy practice to a more sustained reality of leverage as a financial tool – wanted or not – throughout economic cycles in a global economy.”
Jewett-Brewster, who was also just named a Silicon Valley Business Journal 2024 Women of Influence award winner, has more than 20 years of experience advising creditor clients in every aspect of insolvency law, including in the workout, restructuring and enforcement of commercial loans and in business bankruptcy cases nationwide. Her clients include financial institutions, private money lenders, equipment leasing companies, asset purchasers, commercial landlords and tenants, government entities, and more. Jewett-Brewster is one of only 14 attorneys in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico who was selected for the 2023 class of American College of Commercial Finance Lawyers Fellows. She also holds leadership positions with the American Bar Association and California Lawyers Association (CLA), including serving as inaugural co-chair of the CLA’s Diversity Outreach Committee.
