Zunzi’s + Zunzibar Launch Zunzifest! To Raise Funds for Marine Reach Global through June 30

All Locations to Host Appreciation Event to Celebrate Team and Community with Free Sandwiches and Charity Donation on July 9
Zunzi’s + Zunzibar — the Savannah-based sister brands in Savannah, Tybee Island, Atlanta, and Hilton Head Island — have started fundraising for ZUNZIFEST! The fundraising period runs from Saturday, June 1, through Sunday, June 30, and during this time, a percentage of all sales from all four stores will benefit Marine Reach Global.

“We are so excited to support Marine Reach Global once again during ZUNZIFEST!,” says Chris Smith, owner of Zunzi’s + Zunzibar. “It’s an honor to help this nonprofit further its mission of showing love through vital medical care, construction projects, supply distribution, and community and educational outreach to overseas communities in need.”

Zunzi’s + Zunzibar will present Marine Reach Global’s check during ZUNZIFEST! on Tuesday, July 9, 2024. Members of Zunzi’s + Zunzibar’s 26 CLUB are invited to stop by any location to receive a free regular Conquistador (pictured below) or a vegan option upon request from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Zunzibar will be offering all of its usual signature cocktails and drink specials during this time. For fans in Hilton Head Island, Zunzibar will also be hosting a grand opening celebration with an official ribbon cutting at 2 p.m.

Those interested in joining 26 CLUB to receive a link for more details about the event can text “ZUNZIFEST” to 912-207-7551. On the morning of ZUNZIFEST!, guests will receive a code to show the team upon arrival. All locations will close early at 3 p.m. on July 9 for a special appreciation party for their teams.

During past ZUNZIFEST! celebrations, Zunzi’s + Zunzibar presented checks for $7,686 to Giving Kitchen and $11,289 to Feeding America’s Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia and Atlanta Community Food Bank.

Zunzi’s first opened its doors in 2005 to fill the tummies of college students at the Savannah College of Art and Design with home-cooked meals. Since then, Zunzi’s award-winning menu has won the hearts of SCAD students and locals and tourists visiting Savannah. By popular demand, Zunzi’s expanded to Atlanta, Georgia, and opened a second location in May 2018. In 2021, Zunzi’s relocated its original Savannah location and added Zunzibar, its sister beach-themed sports bar concept. Additional locations of Zunzibar opened in Tybee Island, Georgia, in 2023, and Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, in 2024. Zunzi’s + Zunzibar is now focused on further expansion by opening company locations in Coastal Georgia and Florida. In 2023, Zunzibar was named one of Yelp’s “Top Places to Drink”in Savannah. In 2022 and 2023, Zunzi’s earned a spot on Fast Casual’s Top 100 Movers & Shakers list, and CEO Chris Smith was recognized among Fast Casual’s Top 25 Executives. In 2020, Smith was named among QSR’s “15 Young Restaurant Leaders to Watch.” In 2019, Zunzi’s landed on Thrillist’s compilation of “The 33 Best Sandwiches in America,” and the eatery’s Conquistador was named the best sandwich in Georgia on People magazine’s “Best Sandwich in Every State” list. In 2017, Zunzi’s secured a spot on Mental Floss’ list of “The Best Sandwiches in all 50 States” and BuzzFeed’s “34 Meals That are Actually Worth Traveling the World For.” Zagat also rated the Savannah location’s food a 4.6/5. The Conquistador was ranked among Men’s Journal’s “50 Best Sandwiches in America,” in 2015 and “Best Sandwich in the South”by Travel Channel’s Adam Richman in 2012.
