Corporate Attorney Stephen E. Luttrell Joins Baker Donelson

Baker Donelson has added Stephen E. Luttrell, a corporate attorney with a focus on the energy industry,as a shareholder in the Firm’sCorporate Group.He is the latest in a number of recent lateral hires by the national law firm and another addition to the Firm’s rapidly growing Baltimore office.

Mr. Luttrell concentrates his practice in environmental, energy transactions, and commercial transactions. He guides companies through environmental aspects of commercial transactions, including due diligence, contract negotiation, and risk mitigation measures. He counsels regulated entities on matters related to environmental compliance, regulatory enforcement, environmental litigation, and toxic torts.

Prior to joining Baker Donelson, Mr. Luttrell served as co-chair of the Business and Corporate Law Section of a national law firm.

He brings an outstanding skillset in the solar and renewable energy sectors and has done a significant amount of work in commercial, industrial, and community-basedsolar projects. Mr. Luttrell has more than a decade of experience providing strategic advice regarding federal and state solid and hazardous waste laws, clean water act, clean air act, CERCLA and state equivalents, and various environmental and land use permitting programs. Heprovides advice on all aspects of generation development, including site control negotiations, power purchase agreements, regulatory approvals, service agreements, project financing, procurement, and construction contracts. He regularly offers counsel to a range of entities seeking to meet zero emission and sustainability goals.

Mr. Luttrell is the latest of several new attorneys to join Baker Donelson in Baltimore. In recent weeks, the Firm has added health and privacy shareholders Michael J. Halaiko, CIPP/E and Alexandra P. Moylan, CIPP/US, AIGP,as well as tax attorney Elizabeth J. Atkinson.

Mr. Luttrellis currently serving as section chair of the Energy and Environment Section of the Maryland State Bar Association. He is a board member and Governance Committee Chair of SOBAR and serves on the boards of Interstate Cemetery Corporation and the Matthew N. Zolotor Scholarship Fund. A graduate of Villanova University School of Law, Mr. Luttrell is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association and the Pennsylvania State Bar Association.
