Award Recognizes Exemplary Performance, Proactive Leadership
Naveed Malik, the Director of Information Systems and Regulatory Compliance at The Arc Baltimore, is the recipient of the organization’s Excellence in Management Award for 2024.
Presented during The Arc Baltimore’s recent Annual Meeting and Awards Reception, the Excellence in Management Award recognizes the ability of an administrative staff member at The Arc to plan and implement programs and manage staff and other resources effectively. The award also honors the employee for a commitment to professional self-advancement and advancement for subordinates, as well as dedication to normalization and advocacy.
“Naveed has consistently demonstrated exemplary performance, extraordinary commitment to our mission, and exceptional leadership in managing our DSP workforce,” says Kathleen McNally Durkin, The Arc Baltimore’s Chief Executive Officer. “His proactive approach to developing his team and fostering cross-divisional relationships has made him a pivotal figure at The Arc Baltimore.”
According to Durkin, Malik has adeptly handled the growth of his team, seamlessly integrating new billing systems and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. He has also led significant projects, such as implementing Kronos and ICM training. He successfully negotiated $30,000 in cost savings for the organization.
The Annual Meeting and Awards Reception provides an opportunity for The Arc Baltimore to recognize those individuals who have gone the extra mile in their service to the organization and those people with developmental disabilities who are recipients of The Arc’s programs and services. As in past years, the 2024 event featured numerous recognitions, as well as the election of The Arc Baltimore’s new board of directors and officers.
The Arc Baltimore supports people with developmental disabilities (autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, intellectual disability) to lead fulfilling lives with a sense of belonging, purpose, and meaningful relationships.
