Declan Crowley Appointed Cultural Programming Manager Of The Irish Cultural Centre Of Greater Boston

The Irish Cultural Centre of Greater Boston is proud to announce the appointment of Declan Crowley as its new Cultural Programming Manager. With an illustrious career spanning multiple continents and stages, Crowley brings a wealth of experience and artistic vision to his new role.

As the Cultural Programming Manager at the ICC, Declan’s primary responsibility will be to curate a diverse lineup of Irish, Irish-American, and Celtic artists. In addition to organizing featured performances, Crowley’s role will include scheduling cultural programming activities and events that appeal to a wide array of audiences including workshops, classes, concerts, dances, theater, literary workshops and readings, film presentations, and other activities that promote Irish culture and heritage.

Originally from Burnt Hills, NY, Declan is an 8x Regional, 2x National, and All-Ireland Champion Irish dancer. A 2x silver and bronze medal holder at the World Championships and a NFAA youngArts™️ Silver Medalist in World Dance, Crowley began touring internationally with Michael Flatley’s “Lord of the Dance” in 2009, where he played the principal role of ‘Don Dorcha, the Dark Lord’ until 2013. While completing his B.A. in English at the College of the Holy Cross, he served as a principal or featured dancer, dance captain, and associate choreographer with “Irish Celtic,” “TitanicDance,” “Rockin’ Road to Dublin,” “Celtic Fyre,” and several other off-Broadway productions in Asia, Europe, Oceania, and North America.

In 2020, Declan founded Slingshot Artists, a company specializing in independent artist services, and has worked as an art department lead on music videos featuring Joyner Lucas, Mark Wahlberg, J. Cole, Lil Baby, Ty Dolla $ign, and George Lopez. In 2023, Declan was invited by Joanie Madden of Cherish the Ladies to perform for President Biden and other dignitaries at The United States Capitol. A champion céilí band drummer under the late Jimmy Kelly from Albany, NY, Declan also co-produces “Irish Nights” at The Dubliner in Boston, serves as a competitive and dance performance consultant, and has multiple theatrical, production, and film projects in development in the U.S. and Ireland.

Upcoming cultural programming events at the ICC include Sina Theil’s performance on June 13 at 7 PM and Seán Keane’s performance on September 20 at 7:30 PM.
