Petra Funds Group Appoints David Brackett to Board of Directors

NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Petra Funds Group, a leading independent private funds administrator, today announced the appointment of David Brackett to the Board of Directors, effective May 31, 2024.

A founding partner of leading private credit manager Antares Capital, Brackett was appointed Co-CEO in 2015 and became sole CEO in 2019. During his tenure with the firm, Antares grew from a startup in 1996 to managing more than $40 billion in AUM at the time of his retirement at the end of 2021. Brackett also helped lead the firm through its acquisition by GE Capital in 2005 and its eventual sale to the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board in 2015, a transaction that valued the firm at $12 billion. Since leaving the firm, Brackett has served as a senior advisor to McKinsey & Company.

“As a private funds executive with more than 25 years of experience, we are excited to welcome David to Petra’s Board of Directors,” said Stephen Coats, Co-Founder and Managing Partner, Petra. “One of our goals since day one has been to build a deep leadership bench of expert industry veterans at both the firm and board level and we look forward to having David be part of that.”

“Adding David to the board will greatly boost our efforts to build this bench of expertise, and his significant experience growing Antares Capital will be invaluable as we chart Petra’s next growth chapter,” said Peter Haskopoulos, Co-Founder and Managing Partner, Petra.

“I am delighted to be joining Petra’s Board and serve alongside this distinguished group of directors,” said Mr. Brackett. “I know first-hand the challenges that today’s private investment managers are facing when it comes to middle- and back-office operations and am deeply impressed by the distinct platform Petra has developed to help solve these issues. Petra has cultivated a truly talented team, and I look forward to working with them to continue building the success they have generated as the leading provider of fund administration.”

Prior to founding Antares, Mr. Brackett held senior executive roles at Heller Financial and Continental Illinois National Bank (later acquired by Bank of America). He graduated summa cum laude from the University of Denver with a combined BSBA in finance and marketing and earned an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
