Paul D. Burgin Named A Partner At Shawe Rosenthal

Paul D. Burgin has been named a Partner at Baltimore-based employment and labor law firm Shawe Rosenthal LLP.

Burgin represents employers in a wide range of labor and employment matters in court and before federal and state agencies, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Department of Labor.

“Paul brings a wealth of experience to the clients of Shawe Rosenthal, particularly in the areas wage and hour compliance and litigation, corporate governance, and discrimination, harassment, and retaliation,” says the firm’s Co-Managing Partner, Teresa D. Teare. 

Burgin also provides human resources advice and counseling, and prepares and revises employee handbooks, personnel policies and procedures, employment agreements, and restrictive covenants.

Prior to joining Shawe Rosenthal as an associate, Burgin served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Kevin Arthur of the Appellate Court of Maryland. While still in law school, he was a judicial intern for the Honorable Shirley Watts of the Supreme Court of Maryland.

Burgin graduated summa cum laude from the University of Baltimore School of Law, where he served as Associate Managing Editor of the University of Baltimore Law Review, competed on the National Moot Court Team, and was a member of the Heuisler and Royal Shannonhouse Honor Societies. Burgin received his undergraduate degree from Kenyon College.

Burgin is a member of the American Bar Association and the Maryland State Bar Association, and has been admitted to both the Maryland Bar and the United States District Court for the District of Maryland.
