Foot Print to Success Clubhouse in Lauderhill, a non-profit dedicated to transforming the lives of adults with serious mental illness through a therapeutic community, is launching its fourth annual Clubhouse Giving Day campaign on June 4, 2024, with an advanced giving period beginning on May 21. Clubhouse Giving Day is an opportunity to raise vital funds for Foot Print to Success Clubhouse to support its work improving the quality of life of its members by teaching them social and job skills. Clubhouse members join voluntarily, becoming essential and active participants in the program designed to dignify their lives and fulfill their dreams.
Foot Print to Success is one of many Clubhouses worldwide that will participate in this year’s fundraising event hosted by Clubhouse International. This annual event exemplifies the collective power of the community in driving positive change in cities around the globe.
Foot Print to Success’s donations raised during Giving Day will go toward moving expenses and funding essential furnishings, kitchen equipment, and programs for its second location opening soon in Pembroke Pines. This additional location will expand the Clubhouse’s ability to serve more adults in the Broward community and feature a state-of-the-art training kitchen to provide members with valuable culinary skills training for future jobs in the hospitality industry. The new location will offer its members access to affordable housing, expanding its ability to serve more adults in our community. The upcoming expansion to a second location is made possible through a partnership with Carrfour Supportive Housing.
“As we embark on our fourth annual Clubhouse Giving Day, we are reminded of the incredible power of community support in transforming the lives of our clubhouse members,” said Barbara Harmon, CEO of Foot Print to Success Clubhouse. “Every donation made not only helps us provide essential resources and training but also instills hope and confidence in individuals striving to rebuild their lives while or after grappling with the effects of mental illness. Together, we can make a profound difference and create a more inclusive and supportive community.”
Foot Print to Success Clubhouse provides a supportive environment for individuals in Broward County looking to rebuild their lives and seek employment after being affected by mental illness, enabling them to lead successful and productive lives. Donations made on Giving Day allow the clubhouse to provide members with opportunities to cultivate self-esteem, confidence, and purpose by helping individuals develop job skills and training and expand their education, paving the way for financial independence.
Over the past 14 years, more than 50 percent of Foot Print to Success Clubhouse members have secured employment, leading to significant improvements in their lives and relationships. Remarkable milestones such as this one are made possible through generous donations.
Clubhouse Giving Day coincides with Community Mental Health Week of Action, a bigger campaign launched by Clubhouse International. During Mental Health Awareness Month, from May 24-31, Clubhouses will join the collective action by opening their doors to elected officials, community leaders, and local media members to show them how the Clubhouse Model transforms individual lives and communities, and to demonstrate why we need policies supporting psychosocial rehabilitation and funding for mental health services.
