BayCoast Bank (baycoast.bank), a long-time community savings bank serving the people and businesses on the South Coast of Massachusetts and Rhode Island, is proud to announce a trio of noteworthy promotions.
Elizabeth P. Ferreira, a resident of Rehoboth, Massachusetts, has achieved the position of Vice President, Assistant Controller for BayCoast Bank. In this role, she manages the daily activities of the Finance department to ensure integrity and accuracy. She also oversees the preparation of financial reports, including internal and regulatory reporting. Ms. Ferreira previously held the position of Assistant Vice President, Assistant Controller.
Ferreira joined BayCoast Bank in 2000 and has received numerous promotions during her tenure, having held positions including Accounting Officer, Accounting Manager, and Accounting Supervisor. She holds an Associate’s degree from Bristol Community College.
Ferreira actively supports the local community. She serves as a Board member and Treasurer for the Animal Rescue League of Fall River, MA, and serves as an Allocations Panel member for the United Way.
Kerri A. Gomes of New Bedford, Massachusetts, has been promoted to Vice President, Loan Operations Officer for BayCoast Bank. In this new role, she oversees the daily activities of the Loan Operations department, providing guidance, supervision, and training in all aspects of Loan Operations. She is responsible for managing new product changes, as well as evaluating, defining and documenting the Bank’s Loan Operations-related policies, processes, and procedures to maximize efficiencies. Mrs. Gomes previously held the title of Assistant Vice President, Loan Operations Officer.
Gomes joined BayCoast Bank in 2007 as an Assistant Manager in Loan Operations. Prior to this position, she was a Project Supervisor in the Loan Servicing department for People’s Mortgage Corporation.
An active member of the community, Gomes has served as President of the Southern New England Credit Grantors (SNECG), President and Treasurer for the Saint Joseph School PTO, and Treasurer of the JRA Memorial Fund. She also served the United Way of Greater Fall River as a loaned executive.
Michelle Rivera of Fall River, Massachusetts, has been promoted to Vice President, Human Resources for BayCoast Bank. A dedicated member of the BayCoast family for 16 years, she previously served as Assistant Vice President. In her new role, Ms. Rivera assists in the planning, administration and implementation of the Bank’s Human Resources programs, ensuring the accuracy of records and effective administration of benefits and compensation programs. She also manages department staff.
Rivera began her career in banking as a Teller in 1984. Before joining BayCoast Bank in 2008, she served as Payroll and Benefits Manager for Slade’s Ferry Bank in Somerset, Massachusetts.
A proud alumna of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Rivera also graduated from Leadership SouthCoast, a program that engages, educates, and empowers diverse individuals to become active leaders who endeavor to improve our South Coast community.
