Rheumatologist Konstantin Urazov Joins Holy Cross Medical Group

Rheumatologist Konstantin Urazov, M.D. has joined Holy Cross Medical Group, a multi-specialty physician employed group of more than 130 physicians providing services throughout Broward County.

Dr. Urazov’s focus areas include rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, Sjogren’s syndrome, psoriatic arthritis, osteoarthritis and osteoporosis. Prior to joining Holy Cross, Dr. Urazov was an associate physician at South Florida Rheumatology in Hollywood, Florida where he evaluated, diagnosed and managed a variety of diseases impacting joints, muscles and bones; conducted synovial fluid analysis; administered intra-articular or soft tissue injections; analyzed blood tests, X-rays, MRIs and more; and collaborated with orthopedic surgeons, physical therapists and primary care doctors to provide patients with comprehensive care.

While earning his Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Stony Brook University on Long Island, New York, Dr. Urazov was a pharmacy technician at a local CVS. He then pursued a medical degree from Xavier University School of Medicine in Oranjestad, Aruba, graduating with honors. During med school, he served as a keynote speaker at an educational conference and clinical ambassador who provided feedback to the New York State Accreditation Board. He’s also volunteered at community events in Aruba and New York, providing free health screenings to attendees.

Dr. Urazov returned to New York for his internal medicine residency at Long Island Community Hospital in Patchogue, serving as chief resident, and relocated to Florida for his rheumatology fellowship at Larkin Community Hospital Palm Springs Campus in Hialeah, where he was chief fellow.

During his training, Dr. Urazov co-authored several papers. Additionally, he was involved in research where he participated in multiple drug studies by screening and selecting appropriate patients, evaluating efficacy of drugs, assessing for adverse effects and reporting negative reactions to the study sponsor and Institutional Review Board.

Fluent in English and Russian and familiar with medical terminology in Spanish, Dr. Urazov is a member of the American College of Rheumatology, American College of Physicians and American Medical Association and is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
