Jaime Sturgis-led firm continues to lead placemaking efforts in hot emerging neighborhood
Native Realty, the pioneering Fort Lauderdale-based commercial real estate firm led by Jaime Sturgis, successfully brokered four new leases in one of the city’s fastest-growing neighborhoods: Studio City. The firm’s ongoing placemaking efforts resulted in completed transactions with a record store, bridal shop, tattoo parlor and sliding glass door showroom.
Sturgis represented the landlord in a transaction that will bring Shellshock Records to Studio City. The independently owned vinyl record shop leased a 1,119-square-foot space at 603 NE 13th St.
A few blocks down at 850 NE 13th St., Sturgis represented the landlord in a 3,383-square-foot lease with Luv Bridal. Native’s Jeremiah and Sarah Adler represented Luv Bridal in the transaction. Luv Bridal gives brides a showroom experience with one-on-one service to alleviate the stressful dress shopping process.
Within the same building, Sturgis, Native’s Kaley Tuning and Adam Docktor represented the landlord in a 2,300-square-foot lease with Sliding Door Co. The interior glass door manufacturer has operated showrooms throughout North America since 2005. Its clients include some of the highest-profile hospitality operators, residential developers, architecture firms, universities and retailers.
Native also facilitated Black Madonna Tattoo’s expansion to Studio City, with Sturgis representing the landlord and the firm’s Stacy Karst representing the tenant in the 1,416-square-foot lease at 1412 NE Fourth Ave. The tattoo and piercing shop has existing locations in West Palm Beach and Lake Worth.
“We are proud to continue our placemaking momentum in Studio City,” Sturgis said. “Retailers are seizing the opportunity to expand or relocate into one of South Florida’s coolest emerging neighborhoods. We are constantly in talks with retailers, food-and-beverage operators and entertainment concepts that want to be part of the action in Studio City and throughout South Florida.”
Formerly known as the 13th Street neighborhood, Studio City is centrally located just north of Flagler Village and south of Wilton Manors. The name is a nod to the mix of small businesses and creatives that give the neighborhood its distinct character.
Native Realty operates from a Fort Lauderdale office that is double the size of its previous headquarters. The 4,000-square-foot office is located at 1926 E. Sunrise Blvd. in the city’s Victoria Park neighborhood.
