The Baltimore Station’s Second Annual Take a Swing for Recovery Fundraiser Raises Over $40,000 for Homeless Veterans

The Baltimore Station, an organization that provides residential treatment programming to veterans suffering from homelessness and substance abuse disorder, recently hosted its second annual Take a Swing for Recovery golf tournament. The event took place at Topgolf Baltimore on Thursday, April 11, 2024. With more than 160 participants, the event raised over $40,000 that will directly support services for individuals in The Baltimore Station’s program.

Teams from area businesses such as Jiffy Lube, CareFirst, T.Rowe Price, Interim Homes, South Baltimore Network, RCM&D and Pizza di Joey participated in the golf tournament and Jiffy Lube took home the “Top Team” award for the second year.

“It was amazing to see everyone come out for year two of Take a Swing for Recovery to support veterans who have given so much for this country,” said Kim Callari, executive director of The Baltimore Station. “These events are pivotal for our mission, and the community’s support demonstrates their dedication to our cause and the veterans we serve.”

All participants enjoyed golf with some friendly competition as well as a backyard BBQ lunch. Additionally, there were raffles, a gift card pull, and other fun activities for teams to participate in.
