Associated Builders and Contractors Institute Apprenticeship College (ABCI), the educational and training arm of Associated Builders and Contractors Florida East Coast Chapter, announced the appointment of Alberto Altamiranda as Director of Education.
With a distinguished 25-year tenure in South Florida’s education sector, Altamiranda will lead ABCI’s educational initiatives, including pre-apprenticeship, construction education, and seven apprenticeship programs offered across ten campuses statewide. As the single largest apprenticeship education program in Florida, ABCI is dedicated to providing exceptional training and debt-free opportunities for individuals seeking careers in construction trades.
“I am excited to contribute to the amazing work that ABC does for our community and look forward to leading the ABC Institute in its mission of empowering students to excel in construction trades,” said Altamiranda. “By offering a solid alternative to traditional colleges, the ABCI educational pathways are shaping the future of our communities and paving the way for students to thrive in an industry that is essential to our economy.”
Altamiranda, a graduate of the University of Miami and Keller Graduate School of Management, serves on the board of the Christian Business Men’s Connection. Additionally, he shares his musical talent as a bass trombonist with the Fort Lauderdale Symphonic Winds and Broward Big Bands.
