World AIDS Museum & Educational Center Appoints Jessica Reimers Executive Director

Jessica Reimers has been named Executive Director of the World AIDS Museum and Educational Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

With more than 30 years of leadership experience in education and government, Reimers brings a unique international perspective to her work, having taught and administered in Ontario, Canada’s highly regarded public educational system, as well as a director and head of middle school in prestigious private educational settings. Most recently she served as the head of a private middle school in Pensacola.

“I consider myself a global citizen who is committed to the principles of servant leadership and community advocacy,” said Reimers. “At the World Aids Museum, we are here to innovate, build relational trust and maintain a positive culture globally. My personal mission is to continue to empower others with anyone who will listen and advocate with intention.”

From now until the end of April, all donations made to the World AIDS Museum and Educational Center will be matched dollar for dollar. The World AIDS Museum and Educational Center, located in the ArtServe building at 1350 E. Sunrise Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale, promotes positive dialogue that eliminates the HIV/AIDS stigma through education, artistic expression and cultural programming. The museum includes a small gallery, multimedia presentations and artifacts that offer thought-provoking dialogue for all.

“Jessica continues to be an agent of change by building relationships with anyone she meets,” said Julie Williamson-Bresset, Chair of the Museum’s Board. “She leads with a high level of mindfulness, mentorship, emotional intelligence and passion. We are so excited to have her.”

Reimers is a dual citizen of Canada and the United States, with extensive experience living, working and studying on multiple continents. She previously served as a border guard at the Windsor/Detroit Tunnel for Canada Border Services Agency, as well site manager during the pandemic. Reimers holds a bachelor’s degree from Western University where she double majored in French and English. She also earned a bachelor’s degree in education from both the University of Windsor and the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education in Toronto and a master’s degree in education from the University of Windsor in Educational Administration and Leadership. She holds numerous coaching and educational certificates.
