In honor of Earth Day, Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) Food and Nutrition Services is pleased to announce it will be plastic free for breakfast and lunch on Monday, April 22, 2024. The Food and Nutrition Services Department will be implementing the nonuse of plastics for breakfast and lunch for all National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and Child Care Food Program (CCFP) foods on Earth Day. Finger-friendly foods, paper trays and containers will be served to support this plastic free day. Additionally, bamboo forks will be provided to high school students. Together, BCPS is contributing to a greener and more sustainable future by implementing initiatives to help raise awareness and minimize the use of plastic.
