Annual event raises funds to support the Institute’s research and programs
Kennedy Krieger Institute’s ROAR for Kids 5K road race and low-mileage fun walk encourages individuals of all ages to show off their wild side and team spirit. Celebrating the event’s 20th anniversary, participants and supporters will come together at the event’s new location, the Maryland Zoo, for the family-friendly and accessible festivities on Saturday, April 20.
Starting in 2005, this annual fundraiser has raised over $3.4 million to advance programs and research that support children at Kennedy Krieger Institute. ROAR for Kids provides an ideal opportunity for community groups, coworkers and teams to participate in a springtime, outdoor activity with tremendous impact.
Individuals can ROAR with Kennedy Krieger any way they’d like. Participation opportunities include running, walking, rolling, cheering or playing at the Family Festival. Finishing off the morning is the much-loved Mascot Challenge, where local favorites will compete in a frenzied obstacle course to secure bragging rights.
Participants and teams can register online and build their own fundraising pages. Proceeds can be directed to a Kennedy Krieger program of their choice or to the Institute.
