Seven South Florida centers to welcome youth of all ages for a morning of fun & fitness
The YMCA of South Florida is hosting the Y’s annual Healthy Kids Day on Saturday April 20, from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon at seven of its locations across Broward and Miami-Dade counties.
This free, annual event features a variety of family-friendly activities to encourage healthy kids, healthy families and a healthy start to the summer season. It is open to all South Florida residents regardless of YMCA membership.
“Healthy living is one of the YMCA’s primary areas of focus, and this is especially important for children in their development process,” said YMCA of South Florida CEO Sheryl A. Woods. “The need to stay active, both physically and mentally, is so important for children on a year-round basis, especially during the summer. At the Y, we believe in providing resources to families in our community to ensure that their children have access to what they need to reach their full potential, no matter the time of year. Healthy Kids Day is a terrific way for everyone to start this commitment.”
The mission of Healthy Kids Day is to turn fun and play into lifelong memories. Activities offered include sports and wellness demonstrations, bounce houses and slides, music with live DJs, community partner vendors, carnival games, food trucks, and much more. All attendees are also offered exclusive summer camp savings for registration onsite.
Locally, Healthy Kids Day is sponsored by Joe DiMaggio’s Children’s Hospital, Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, Miami Marlins and Publix Charities.
