Charney Companies Appoints Evan Huang as Director of Business Development

Huang, Part of the Inspiration Behind ABC TV’s “Fresh off the Boat,” Will Lead Firm’s Growth Initiatives

Charney Companies announces that Evan Huang, a seasoned real estate broker and entrepreneur, has joined Charney Brokerage. Established in 2019, Charney Brokerage is a fast-growing boutique agency servicing third parties and operating Charney’s in-house sales, leasing, marketing, and branding team. Huang will oversee growth and expansion initiatives for the brokerage while also leading new development sales, business, and recruitment.

“As a full-service firm with strength in development, investment, management, construction and brokerage, we offer a new and dynamic approach to real estate,” said Sam Charney, Principal for Charney Companies. “With Evan, who has brokered top deals in both commercial and residential estate, and who has connections in the worlds of fashion, food, design, and entertainment, we are confident he will make an extraordinary impact on our clients and will be a wonderful addition to the Charney family.”

Prior to joining Charney Companies, Huang was at The Shopping Center Group and spent almost a decade at Tungsten Property. He specialized in food and beverage retail leasing at The Shopping Center Group and had several exceptional marquee sales at Tungsten Properties, including the entire 57th floor at Madison Square Park Tower for $12,500,000, as well as unit 26A for $5,500,000, an apartment at 565 Broome, designed by Renzo Piano, for $7,150,000, and the penthouse at 53 Greene for $10,500,000. Most recently, Huang was Managing Partner of Velocity Capital Group, a multi-family real estate investment firm.

A multi-faceted entrepreneur with a background in the entertainment and service industry, as well as real estate, Huang co-founded the critically acclaimed restaurant Baohaus in New York and LA, and his family was the inspiration behind ABC’s hit TV show, Fresh Off The Boat. Huang’s wide-ranging background gives him the ability to approach real estate and placemaking from a very holistic and authentic perspective.

“The wealth of expertise in construction, development, and investment that Charney embodies is a unique advantage for a brokerage to have and I’m looking forward to creating ways to make that expertise more accessible to our clients,” said Huang. “Charney Companies is comprised of people going to great lengths to not only build industry-leading projects, but also to be stewards of the communities they are invested in. I’m proud to join and am excited to help them build upon their success.”

Huang is a graduate of The New School and Parsons School of Design, where he studied Geopolitics and Service Design.
