Houston’s New Faces of Pride Hosts Parade and Festival

New Organization Supports LGBTQ+ Community Through Funding, Partnerships, Transparency and Inclusion

Houston’s New Faces of Pride, a vibrant and inclusive pride organization committed to creating a safe and empowering space for the LGBTQ+ community in Houston, is proud to announce the theme for this year’s Parade and Festival, “Rainbow Revolution.” The organization’s inaugural celebration will take place Saturday, June 22 within and outside of City Hall, Downtown Houston.

Founded in 2023 by Bryan Cotton, Houston’s New Faces of Pride serves as a catalyst for Houston’s LGBTQ+ community by transparently and sustainably raising funds and grantmaking, supporting grassroots organizations and celebrating diversity and intersectionality. The theme was inspired by its mission and core values: celebrating LGBTQ+ progress, embracing change, igniting the spirit of unity and raising as many funds as possible for the community.

All Pride activities, including the June Festival and Parade will raise funds for this year’s two benefiting nonprofits, Montrose Grace Place and Tony’s Place, thanks to sponsorships and individual tickets/donations. HP, Silver Eagle and The Pearl Bar are just a few of the event’s major sponsors. KTRK ABC 13, OutSmart, Mix 96.5 and 104.1 KRBE are supporting the organization and Festival and Parade as media sponsors.

“Our city needs a Pride organization it can celebrate with and trust to represent our community with integrity, transparency and love” said Bryan Cotton, President and Founder of Houston’s New Faces of Pride. “We are thrilled to invite LGBTQ+ individuals, families, and, of course, and our fabulous allies from all over Houston and beyond to join us in making this event a spectacular showcase of Houston’s commitment to uplifting the community.”

The Festival and Parade festivities will commence with an official Pride After-Party hosted in partnership with and taking place at POST Houston. Entertainment will be provided by deejay and LGBTQ advocate Marti Frieson of DNVRMX. The weekend will be rounded out with a Pride Recovery brunch at Heights Social followed by a pool party at Rich’s Nightclub.

Outside of the Festival and Parade which take place during June’s “Pride Month,” Houston’s New Faces of Pride is a changemaker and fundraiser throughout the year. Each month, the organization partners with a different Houston- or Texas-based nonprofit organization within the LGBTQ+ community for a social happy hour, where it highlights the nonprofit along with a local business. At its winter drive, Houston’s New Faces of Pride successfully collected 1,235 units of donated items or approximately $12,500 in value for homeless LGBTQ+ youth.
