Beveridge & Diamond PC Principal Roy D. Prather III Joins International Association Of Defense Counsel

The International Association of Defense Counsel has announced that Roy D. Prather III, a principal at Beveridge & Diamond PC in Baltimore, Maryland, has accepted an invitation to join the IADC, the preeminent invitation-only global legal organization for attorneys who represent corporate and insurance interests.

“I am honored to be invited as a new member of the prestigious International Association of Defense Counsel and be counted among its highly respected and accomplished corporate defense lawyers,” Mr. Prather said. “I look forward to being part of a group that strives to promote excellence in legal practice by providing valuable high-level education and professional development opportunities.” 

Mr. Prather focuses his national practice on complex environmental and commercial litigation matters and counseling on environmental justice. A member of the Management Committee at Beveridge & Diamond, he also has been an active member of the firm’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee since 2015, serving as its chair from 2020 to 2022.

Among Mr. Prather’s professional affiliations, he currently serves as vice chair of DRI’s Toxic Tort and Environmental Law Committee and as co-chair of the Environmental Subsection of the American Bar Association’s Real Estate, Condemnation, and Trust Litigation Committee. In addition, he is a member of the Advisory Board and Executive Council for the Institute for Energy Law. Within the Baltimore community, he is a member of the board of directors and chair of the Governance and Nominating Committee of the National Aquarium. He also is a founding member and serves on the Advisory Board of the Black BigLaw Pipeline, Inc., a non-profit organization of senior Black attorneys that promotes positive outcomes for Black attorneys working at large law firms.

Mr. Prather earned his J.D. from the Georgetown University Law Center and his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Pennsylvania.
