Road to Responsibility (RTR), one of the region’s largest and most successful nonprofit organizations supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, is pleased to announce Joy Reed of Carver, Massachusetts, as senior vice president/service delivery and strategic development.
Reed brings more than 30 years of experience in the human service field to this leadership role, working with many populations, including those with intellectual and developmental disabilities, brain injury, mental illness, autism, and the homeless.
Her ability at new program development has resulted in the opening of over 50 new programs and supports in her career. Reed has piloted numerous programs with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, including high intensity medical homes with 24-hour nursing, a brain injury community center, and Narcan distribution and needle exchange to high-risk individuals.
Reed earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Hofstra University and subsequently obtained her master’s degree in mental health counseling from Bridgewater State University.
