Rose Pastore Promoted to Executive Editor at Gizmodo

G/O Media named Rose Pastore as executive editor of Gizmodo, a leading tech publication covering consumer electronics, science, design and entertainment, effective immediately.

Pastore is a science and technology journalist with more than a decade of experience in digital media. She joined Gizmodo in 2017 as science editor and has led the site’s coverage of health, physics, space, climate, archaeology and more.

Previously, she was news editor at Fast Company, where she helped shape the magazine’s expansion into online news and live events. Before that, she was an assistant editor at Popular Science, where she covered spaceflight, robotics and the history of science and tech.

Pastore will report to Rory Carroll, group editor of Gizmodo and Jalopnik.

“Rose is a thoughtful, serious and talented editor with an exceptional news sense,” said Carroll. “More importantly, she’s a natural leader who has earned the respect of the entire team, she’s absolutely critical to the success of Gizmodo.”

“I’m thrilled to help lead the team at Gizmodo,” said Pastore. “Our writers and editors consistently produce stories that are smart, important and different, and I’m excited for us to continue doing great work.”

Pastore holds a Bachelor of Science in journalism from Northwestern University.
