Civo Acquires Kubefirst

Civo, a Stevenage, Hertfordshire, UK-based pure-play cloud-native service provider, acquired Kubefirst, a Greenwich, CT-based open-source GitOps powered platform for Kubernetes, from its parent company Kubeshop.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

This acquisition aims to enhance Civo’s portfolio by integrating Kubefirst into its offerings to customers, reinforcing its commitment to simplifying cloud computing complexities. Following the acquisition by Civo, Kubefirst will continue to operate under its own entity, preserving its mission to maintain an open-source software version and its agnostic cloud provider integrations.

Started in 2019 by John Dietz and Jared Edwards, and led by Dmitry Fonarev, CEO, Kubefirst delivers instant GitOps platforms so customers can have the most popular open source platform tools working together in minutes. The platform is open source, listed on the Cloud Native Computing Foundation’s Landscape.

This acquisition furthers Civo’s mission to simplify the cloud, and extends on recent investments and partnerships to grow its sustainable cloud offering for its customers, including leading a £1 million seed funding round in heata, a low carbon compute network, and becoming the exclusive cloud partner for Deep Green, the data center heat re-use pioneer.

Led by CEO Mark Boost, Civo is a cloud provider focused on cloud native technologies. The company provides businesses with everything they need to start their journey on the cloud including infrastructure built on lightning-fast Kubernetes, the latest in sustainable cloud GPUs, access to managed Machine Learning and new ML models, and a predictable bill for services used every month.
