The Eisenberg Foundation Commemorates 25th Anniversary

The Harold E. Eisenberg Foundation is commemorating its 25th Anniversary in 2024, kicking off the year with its Annual Eisenopoly event last Friday, February 2nd and continuing its lifesaving and life-changing activities and programs throughout the year.

The Foundation, established in 1999, is the result of an outpouring of love and support from Harold Eisenberg’s friends and colleagues within the commercial real estate industry. The parallel paths of the Foundation are a means to honor his memory by waging a battle against the cancer that took his life and continuing his professional legacy as a mentor and educator within the real estate industry.

“Over the past 25 years, with the help of thousands of supporters and volunteers within his personal and professional communities, the Harold E. Eisenberg Foundation has remained dedicated to lifesaving gastrointestinal cancer research and life-changing real estate educational initiatives,” said Kristen Young, Executive Director.

Entering 2024, the impact of the work of the Foundation has been significant. A partial list of accomplishments includes:

·       Contributing more than $4 million to the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center of Northwestern University, helping to fund the creation of the Harold E. Eisenberg GI Cancer Tissue Bank and the OncoSET Program, as well as dozens of research scholars.
·       The Foundation’s dedicated and long-standing volunteers have supported 1,900 days of real estate mentorship.
·       The Foundation has awarded more than $500,000 in scholarships to hundreds of students interested in pursuing a career in commercial real estate.

Looking ahead, the foundation will be hosting its signature events and programs to create awareness of and raise funds for gastrointestinal research and real estate education. Among some of the programs include:

·       Level Program—Spring/Fall 2024 – Presented by Wintrust, this program welcomes high school students to learn more about the career potential within the commercial real estate industry.
·       Real Estate Challenge—April 13, 2024 – welcoming 30 undergraduate and graduate teams from universities across the country.
·       Career Day—In October, welcoming 150 students to learn more about CRE and career paths possible.
·       Annual Dinner—October 17, 2024 – will welcome 700+ real estate professionals to celebrate and commemorate 25 years of the Harold E. Eisenberg Foundation.

“The Foundation’s longevity is a testament to the commercial real estate community,” said Peter Eisenberg, Board President. “Our family is deeply grateful for the contributions of both time and financial support provided for these very important initiatives. The success and impact of the Foundation’s efforts is something we could not have imagined 25 years ago.”
