Holy Cross Health’s Intensive Rehabilitation Unit Welcomes Jonathan Warford, M.D.

Jonathan Warford, M.D. has joined the Holy Cross Health Intensive Rehabilitation Unit, providing inpatient physical therapy and rehabilitation services, therapies, treatments and care at the hospital.
For the past year, Dr. Warford has been an inpatient attending physician and assistant medical director at Baptist Health of South Florida Bethesda East Hospital’s Cornell Institute for Rehabilitation Medicine in Boynton Beach, Florida. He previously cared for both inpatients and outpatients at The Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. As an attending physician, he provided non-surgical spine and joint care including administering intraarticular joint injections, trigger-point injections, Botox injections, conducted electrodiagnostic studies, screened referrals and consulted with patients.
Dr. Warford graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science on a pre-med track from the University of Dayton in Ohio, where he also played football. He went on to University of Toledo, where he earned a Masters of Biological Science with a concentration in medical science from the College of Graduate Studies and a Doctor of Medicine from the College of Medicine and Life Sciences (UTCOM). Dr. Warford volunteered at UTCOM’s CommunityCare Clinics, a student-run organization that provides underserved members of the Toledo community with healthcare services under the supervision of physicians. Dr. Warford completed an internship in preliminary internal medicine and a residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio.
A member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Association of Academic Physiatrists and American Medical Association, Dr. Warford has given presentations focused on respiratory collapse in myasthenia gravis, squamous cell carcinoma metastasis, cognitive recovery following carbon monoxide intoxication and anoxic brain injury, medical marijuana and more at The Ohio State University Internal Medicine Intern Grand Rounds, Ohio Health Grant Medical Center Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) Case Conference, Ohio Health Riverside Methodist Hospital PM&R Case Conference, Nationwide Children’s Hospital Pediatric Rehab Case Conference, Association of Academic Physiatrists Annual Conference and American Society of Regional Anesthesia Annual Conference.
At the Holy Cross Hospital Rehabilitation Institute, the inpatient rehab unit provides highly trained individuals working as a team to address the post-acute care recovery of patients. Specialists and primary care physicians familiar to the patient are able to continue any follow-up care, as needed, and there is a rehabilitation physician who provides daily medical management to each patient.
