Marconi Speaker Series Continues With David Farrell And Maritime Law

Attorney David Farrell Jr. is a frequent speaker and author on maritime law and public policy and is recognized as a leading maritime law expert on the Offshore Wind Industry and the Jones Act.

In the build-up to World War I and after, the U.S. had a glut of ships and needed to figure out what to do with them as things returned to normalcy. The result was the Merchant Marine Act of 1920, better known as the Jones Act. It defined U.S. commercial maritime policy and seafarer safety with the goal of encouraging a robust U.S.-flag merchant marine. It remains controlling law over 100 years later.

Farrell will speak on Thursday, March 7th, 2024 at 7:00 PM. Reservations for this virtual event may be made at ChathamMarconi.org/speakerseries.  Registration for either in-person seating or Zoom webinar participation is $10.  Registrants are permitted to link one computer to the Zoom webinar.  In-person seating is limited.
