Miller Construction Company Delivers A Nearly 303,000-Sq-Ft Warehouse In Jacksonville

Miller Construction Company, a statewide, privately-held construction firm, completes construction of a 302,823-square-foot warehouse for Lincoln Property Co. in Jacksonville, Florida. The building will provide quick access to the interstate highways on the city’s west side.

Miller delivered the rear-load warehouse at 2992 Pickettville Road November 2023.

“The finished building provides ample space for tenants,” said Brian Sudduth, President of Miller Construction. “The 4-foot-high docking stations and 60-foot-wide speed bay will make loading and unloading for distribution easy and efficient.”

The building has 58 dock doors that sit 4 feet above the ground and measure 9 feet by 10 feet, plus two drive-in ramp doors, each 14 feet by 14 feet. The massive industrial project on the west side of I-295, just north of I-10, is also equipped with 36-foot clear-height ceilings and columns spaced 54 feet by 48 feet apart.

Miller’s preconstruction team met the challenge of building on clayey soils, which can require design changes and create problems for construction crews in adverse weather. In anticipation of any issues, the company hired experienced local contractors familiar with these conditions which ensured a safe and secure building process.

The project team includes architects IBI Group, Puga and Associates, Inc. (MEP), DDA Engineers (structural) and Adkinson Engineering (civil).
