citybiz+ SaaS Optimizing Startup dataroomHQ Raises $3.5 Million

With much-needed technology to optimize SaaS platforms, dataroomHQ has closed on a strategic $3.5 million funding round led by Oceans (New York) and Bling Capital (Miami Beach, Fla.). West Coast firms Garuda Ventures, Cortical Ventures, b5 Capital, Divide By Zero and CRV Scout also participated. So far, the New York startup has raised $7.5 million.

The company also unveiled an AI-powered platform that brings new insights into SaaS performance. With operational metrics, and automated reporting, the platform helps C-suite executives in decision-making in varied spheres, including planning and pricing.

Filling Key Gap

“Having worked with startup leaders and in high growth environments, I know first-hand how challenging it is to have true visibility across all the functions of a business,” said dataroomHQ founder and CEO Jeff Schwartz, a specialist in data and risk analytics.

“That’s why I founded dataroomHQ – to provide SaaS companies with a single source of truth for their metrics along with blueprints for how to optimize them so they can achieve efficient growth,” added Schwartz, who previously served as insurer AIG’s head of US data analytics, aggregation, and governance.

Bling’s general partner Kyle Liu said his firm considers metrics from cohort analysis as important for the startups it funds because they provide “early insights” on whether the product is working. “dataroomHQ automates the exact analysis we would do to analyze these companies,” he added.

With growing importance of cloud computing, SaaS has emerged as a key sector but ways to evaluate the cloud platform’s efficiencies has lagged. Most systems offer only a fragmented view, without sufficient insights on underlying reasons. Schwartz says dataroomHQ fills this gap, offering a unified platform to deliver and interpret key trends and metrics, alongside strategies for optimization.

“dataroomHQ provides SaaS companies with a blueprint for efficient growth,” said Arpan Punyani, co-founder and general partner of Garuda Ventures. “It’s an AI-powered platform that empowers Finance, RevOps, and GTM Analytics teams to get to ground truth on all critical operational metrics and drive efficient growth.”
