Meredith Reedy Named a Charlotte Business Journal Women in Business Honoree

Moore & Van Allen PLLC (MVA) is pleased to announce that Financial Services Member Meredith French Reedy was selected for the Charlotte Business Journal’s 2024 Women in Business Awards program.

This highly competitive program, now in its 28th year, recognizes 25 women who are making an impact in the Charlotte region through career accomplishments and community involvement. Honorees will be spotlighted in a CBJ special report on March 15 and celebrated during an awards program on March 21.

Reedy was selected for her practice leadership, work in helping to forge a path for other women at the firm, and role as a leader of the group that defined and now champions MVA’s Shared Core Values statements.

“Meredith uses her vision, talent, and can-do attitude to continually forge new and better paths for clients and for those at Moore & Van Allen,” said Co-head of the firm’s Financial Services group Wayne McKinzie. “She is practical and very technically competent and has been a trailblazer leading growth every year over the last decade in our Farm Credit Lending practice.”

Reedy is co-founder and co-head of the firm’s Farm Credit Lending group, a sub-group of the Financial Services practice. She represents financial institutions, including commercial banks and Farm Credit System banks and associations, in connection with the structuring and documenting of secured and unsecured lending transactions, including single-lender, club, and syndicated credit facilities. She has experience in acquisition financing, real estate financing, and asset-based lending.

In addition to her demanding practice, Reedy co-chairs the Women of Moore & Van Allen (WoMVA) Business Resource Group, which brings together female professionals at the firm for mentoring, networking, and career development opportunities that promote the interests and progress of women lawyers and staff. WoMVA also provides support for members in their efforts to achieve leadership positions within the firm and the community. Recently, Reedy’s efforts with WoMVA contributed to the firm being selected for North Carolina Lawyers Weekly’s inaugural Empowering Women awards, which recognize law firms that have shown a strong commitment to supporting and elevating women attorneys in North Carolina.

Reedy also serves on MVA’s Compensation Committee, Diversity Committee, and Recruiting Committee, with a particular focus on the firm’s summer associate program, Diversity Conference, and Diversity Scholarship program.
