Hanley Foundation Hosts 25th Annual Golf Classic At North Palm Beach Country Club On April 15

On Monday, April 15, 2024, Hanley Foundation will host its 25th Annual Golf Classic at North Palm Beach Country Club. More than 100 supporters are expected to ‘putt for scholarships’ in this annual benefit. Golf aficionado Johnny Pickett will serve as the Honorary Chair.

Longtime supporter and Hanley Foundation Board Member Marguerite Connelly will serve as event Chairperson. Marguerite authored a heartfelt memoir, “Addicted to the Addicted: A Mother’s Tale of Going from Heartbreak to Hopeful,” documenting her experience dealing with her son’s ongoing drug addiction.

“Like so many others, I’ve had first-hand knowledge of the pain and tragedy addiction has on families,” said Connelly. “I am fiercely committed to bringing a message of hope and awareness to those who are suffering, and I am honored to serve Hanley Foundation to help raise funds for its critical programs.”

The tournament will benefit Hanley’s Lifesaver Scholarship Program, which provides financial scholarships for individuals with substance use disorders who would not otherwise be able to afford quality treatment. More than 500 individuals received Lifesaver Scholarships from Hanley Foundation in 2023.

“With continued support of our Lifesaver Scholarship Program, hope will be restored, families will be reunited, and lives will be saved,” said Rachel Docekal, Hanley Foundation’s CEO.

Registration opens at 7:30 a.m., with a shotgun start at 9:00 a.m. The tournament is a shamble format with 18 holes of competitive play. Refreshments and activities will be offered on the course, and a luncheon, silent auction and awards presentation will follow tournament play. To acknowledge his long-standing support of Hanley Foundation’s prevention programs and the Palm Beach Sheriff Office’s ongoing commitment to Hanley’s mission of eliminating addiction, the Foundation will be presenting Sheriff Ric Bradshaw with the Inaugural Community Champion Award during their luncheon.

Sponsors include Hanley Family Foundation and Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.  Tickets, sponsorship, and underwriting opportunities are still available.
