St. Brigid’s Day, Lá Fhéile Bríde, is an annual celebration of the creativity and achievements of Irish women, in the arts, science, business, politics and education and other fields. St. Brigid’s Day became a national holiday in Ireland in 2023, celebrating the important contribution of women leaders throughout Irish history.

“The celebration of women’s contributions to Ireland and the Irish American community is incredibly important to the ICC and its mission,” said Executive Director of the ICC, Jerry McDermott. “We look forward to welcoming members and friends of the ICC and greater Irish Boston community to our annual St. Brigid’s Day celebration as we look to an exciting and busy 2024!”

“The celebration of St Brigid’s Day is a new and innovative way to showcase the work of trailblazing, inspirational Irish women who are making their mark across a range of fields,” said Sighle FitzGerald, Irish Consul General Boston. “It aims to promote a modern, positive image of Ireland internationally, as well as a commitment to diversity and gender equality by celebrating the achievements of women. St. Brigid’s Day also aims to involve, in an active way, new and growing Irish communities across the world.”
