American Heritage Schools and the City of Riviera Beach PD Team Up to Host Holiday Toy Drive

American Heritage Schools’ students, school administrators, faculty and the school mascot, Swanny the Stallion, teamed up with the City of Riviera Beach to host its third annual holiday toy drive on Tuesday, Dec. 19.

More than 400 children visited the Riviera Beach Police Substation from two neighborhood schools in Rivera Beach, Florida, where they had the opportunity to select an unwrapped toy of their choice and to take photos with Swanny the Stallion and The Grinch. Ahead of the event, students and faculty from American Heritage Schools collected and delivered 500 toys to donate.

The event is a combined effort of the City of Riviera Beach Police Department, represented by Major Josh Lewis, and American Heritage Broadcasting Teacher and Mass Comm Club Advisor Michael Appelbaum.

In conjunction with the Rivera Beach PD, the toy drive was originally led by the American Heritage Schools’ Mass Communications Club and was joined by the Scholar-Athlete Club, the International Program and the Academic and College Advising Department as the drive became a schoolwide event.
