Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer is pleased to announce the sale of the former DePaul Hospital property at 150 Kingsley Lane in Norfolk, Virginia.
The James Barry-Robinson Institute purchased the campus, situated on 15 acres, with the plan over the next two years to develop the St. Vincet de Paul House, which will be the new home for Next Step to Success. Barry Robinson will incorporate a campus of “learning houses”, a gymnasium, dining hall, gardens, and a regulation-size soccer field dedicated to serve up to 300 future “Success Stories” from Norfolk’s most underserved communities.
Founded in 1855 as the Hospital of St. Vincet de Paul, DePaul Hospital moved to its present location in 1944, serving Norfolk and the greater Hampton Roads community. The hospital continued to expand with the construction of new medical office buildings, redevelopment of the existing hospital and emergency room, and a reconfiguration of seven parcels over fifteen acres until the campus eventually closed in 2021.
Rob Wright and Birck Turnbull of Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer handled the sale negotiations on behalf of the seller.
