Realterm Completes Acquisition Of 502,065 SF Air Cargo Facility In Calgary

Realterm announced today the latest expansion of its global transportation logistics real estate platform with the acquisition of the Airfreight Logistics Centre, encompassing five Class-A industrial buildings totaling 502,065 square feet in Calgary, Alberta.

The Centre is situated on land leased from the Calgary Airport Authority, directly adjacent to the airfield at the Calgary International Airport (YYC), the fourth busiest airport in Canada which handles 75% of Alberta’s air cargo shipments. The Centre, which includes a mix of small and mid-bay facilities, is uniquely positioned to cater to the needs of airport operators and boasts high-functionality attributes including a total of 159 loading doors and direct access to the airfield. The properties are currently 100% leased with a diverse tenant mix.

“This strategic acquisition, with direct access to the tarmac and proximity to vital transportation routes, amplifies our presence in the Calgary area and provides a unique opportunity to meet the needs of the rapidly growing airport community” said Alexi Lachambre, Vice President, Investments at Realterm.

The five properties, located at 46, 47, 49, 52 and 58 Aero Drive NE, are strategically located on the west side of YYC, offering tenants direct access to Highway 2, the north-south thoroughfare that is part of the CANAMEX Trade Corridor.

“We are especially proud of this acquisition, furthering our strategic goal of offering best-in-class transportation logistics facilities to our user-partners,” said Jacob Smiley, Associate Vice President, Investments at Realterm. “It is an exemplary portfolio of highly functional and differentiated buildings and reinforces our commitment to delivering superior real estate solutions in thriving markets.”
